Quiet Riot
If you missed the "insiders only" E3 Expo when it was in town, you can still get your game on with some newly minted PC and X-Box game titles this weekend.
Game Riot is a traveling video games event and competition open to the general public — like E3, but without the hassle at the door.
This is your chance to try before you buy, since some of the games haven't even hit the shelves yet. Spend some face time with the buzz-makers and see which ones are worth the investment.
Take your pick of over 70 gaming stations tricked out with plasma and LCD screens. If you want to play on a really wide screen with surround sound, get yourself into one of the tournaments center stage.
In some ways this show wishes it were E3. For one, Game Riot is an all-ages event, which means you could potentially be knocking elbows with some pimply-faced teens. Also, because X-Box is one of the main sponsors, you won't get a true survey of gaming across all consoles.
But if all you're looking for is a chance to geek out gamer-style, we'll see you in line at the Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory station.
