Rub It In
Massages.
A little counterproductive, aren't they?
Hard to relax knowing every minute is costing you a wad of cash.
Well, if a rub-down is what you're after and you can do without the extra frills, hit the California Healing Arts College in West L.A. for full Swedish massage at a fraction of spa prices.
Just like at other colleges, students here are looking for bodies to rub — except here, it's a requirement for graduation. For $32 you can have your flesh kneaded into a loose putty and help a student out at the same time. It's a sacrifice — we know — but do it in the name of education.
Before you start having flashbacks to that four-hour haircut you got at the Vidal Sassoon hair-dressing school, relax. You won't be wasting a lot of hours here, and there's no instructor lingering to tell your student massager what's what. This is 50 solid minutes of hands-on full-body massage performed by a schooled masseur/masseuse.
The big question — how naked should you be under that sheet? Whatever makes you comfortable. Strip down to your skivvies or break out the au naturel.
In less than an hour you'll leave feeling relaxed with only a minor dent in your wallet.
How's that for a happy ending?
