Next, pimp your ride with your choice of body color — also internal lighting and wiring colors. Just like the object of desire in your garage, the pleasure of ownership for these babies comes at a price. An Intel Pentium 4 Compucar with a 2.8GHZ processor, a 40GB hard drive and 512MB RAM will set you back $1,699. That's several hundred dollars more than a comparable desktop from, say, Dell. And some of the models translate better than others. The Corvette is a slick interpretation of an American classic, where the elegant styling of a real Lexus LS430 is lost on the dowdier Compucar version.
