Cubism
Toys often reflect the world we live in.
If dollhouses at one time mirrored suburban idyll, the miniatures of today have moved on.
Case in point, The Cubes. These little plastic sets give new meaning to the term "executive toys."
Each set contains a posable plastic figure — though the makers neglected to give them the requisite office worker paunch.
There are also enough parts to construct a classic corporate cube: four walls, desk, chair, file cabinet, in/out box, phone, and computer. But we checked in the desk drawer and — nope, no flask. (This is looking less and less like our office).
Playtime with The Cubes is all about subversion. Some Cube owners have made their office workers behave in ways that are highly unprofessional. You too can make your employees do whatever you want.
After all, you're the boss.
The Cubes are available for $12.99 each at ThinkGeek.com. |
