Living Large

If you're looking for the right piece to round out your bachelor pad, an over-sized blob of foam-filled fabric might be just what you need.

And you can find your blob at one of the few LoveSac quasi-furniture stores cropping up around the greater L.A. area. It's furniture that sucks you in, and if it happens to suck your date in with you, is that really so bad?

Yeah, bean bags were big in the seventies -- but never this big. LoveSacs come in sizes ranging from kiddy-size (3 ft.) to off-the-hook-humongous (8 ft.) and include all sorts of accessories like pockets for your remote control or a tube-shaped head rest.

Don't let the "conceived in 1976" sign on the store-front fool you. That's the year Love Sac CEO Shawn Nelson was conceived, not the company. Nelson made his first overstuffed sac at age 18. Now, eleven years later, the company he spawned has stores nationwide.

The best thing about these over-sized bean bags -- no messy beans. Instead they're stuffed with shredded DuraFoam. Double stitching on the inner sac also helps prevent leaks.

It's a modern day improvement on a bachelor pad classic. Now if only they could do the same for the water bed.

A LoveSac store can be found at the following malls:
Del Amo Fashion Center
Glendale Galleria
Hollywood & Highland
Northridge Fashion Center
